Having a problem Defraging computer?

After I click on Maintenance Wizard, the defrag starts. It goes upto 3%, returns to Zero and this cycle keeps repeating even if the PC is left on for over one hour. My Computer has slowed down a lot.

This is happening since 2 weeks, first timein the past 4 years.

Please tell me what is causing this problem and how I should over come it.

Make sure your screensaver is turned off and nothing else is running If anything is running during defrag it will stop defraging and restart.
