Why am I getting a ViaVoice Options Error when I try to start my control panel and what can I do about it?

I get the following error when I bring up Control Panel:

ViaVoice Options Error: Failed to load local language module.

I've done some research on this, and things seem to lead back to loading the software, however I'm not aware of what software it is, or what it came with.

Is there a way to prevent this message from coming up in the future? Is it possible to remove a key from the registry that may be causing this?

Any info on this annoying problem would be helpful.

Thanks!

-Mike

ViaVoice is an office transcription program and if you're getting this error message it is because you have it installed on your machine and some part of it has likely become corrupted If you do have this ViaVoice software on a disk, my first suggestion would be to reinstall it If you don't then it might be something that you downloaded from the internet If this is the case, I would try uninstalling it, if you can get into your control panel at all, by accessing the adding and removing programs option there If that is not possible, then I would search the registry for any keys containing "viavoice" and delete them -- carefully ViaVoice is not a normal part of windows 98, so it is a program that was added to your machine, one way or another
