installed new floppy drive(m/c came without one). my computer does not see it. but it is in control panel, device working ok, etc. green light on, on floppy all the time. cable connections seem ok, right way round(notch in connections).have also tryed another floppy drive, the same result.

The floppy drive is not accesible

do the following:

-Reboot the PC and try again

-check CMOS setup.Is the drive configured correctly?

-Use a different power cable

-if the drive uses a controlled card, remove the card.Using a clean white eraser, erase and clean the edge connector and reseat the board

-Use a different power cable

-Replace the data cable

-If the drives still don't work, suspect the system board or the Rom Bios on the system board
