My computer will not boot up, the power supply is working, I hear the fan and lights work. But when I try to turn it on it will not even bring up the bios screen on the monitor. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Barbara

-verify that the monitor is plugged in and turned on and that the wall outlet works by plugging in a lamp, radio or other elecrical appliance

-if the monitor power cord is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, verify that the power strip is turned on

-if the monitor power is plugged into the back of the computer, verify that the connection is tight, and that the computer is turn on

-check for a fuse in the monitor if one is present, it should be visible from the back of the monitor.look for a black knob that you can remove .Check the fuse for a broken wire indicating a bad fuse.

-check that air vents are clear of dust and obstructions

-check for a switch on the back of the monitor for choosing between 110 volts and 220 volts.Check that the switch is in the correct position
