Data Doctors Radio Program
The Spyware Scare
Information about consumers is the name of the game with online businesses. So, naturally, great emphasis has been put on finding an effective way to gather data. Now, surveys are good and polls are fairly accurate, but what about the opportunity to gather data on millions of consumers in real time?
That’s where spyware and adware come into play. By transparently installing a piece of software designed to monitor various computer activities, spyware companies can gather invaluable statistics on Internet surfing and shopping habits. Hardly an ethical strategy, but big businesses will pay large sums of money for such information.
Now hackers have modified the spyware monster to gather more intrusive figures, such as passwords and even credit card numbers; and so here we are. Join Ken, Brandon, Chad, and the newest Data Doctors from New Mexico (Michal is on vacation) as we discuss the most irritating and violating nuisance plaguing Internet users today.
Bring your old electronics down to the live broadcast at the Paradise Valley Mall - outside the Macy's Entrance - or to any Data Doctors location.
