Securing Your New PC
As your old system atrophies, you may be considering the purchase of a new PC. If your current system is several years old, this may be a good time to do it. With a new computer comes the latest hardware, a warranty, better performance, and potentially a better operating system. But, all these things don’t necessarily add up to better security.

Piggybacker: A person who uses a wireless Internet connection without permission. Many who piggyback say the practice does not feel like theft because it does not seem to take anything away from anyone. One occasional piggybacker compared it to “reading the newspaper over someone’s shoulder”. Piggybackers are common in densely populated areas, such as apartment complexes, where the wireless signal can easily bleed through walls and ceilings.
