Office 2007
Microsoft's newest version of their flagship productivity software suite made some radical changes in how a user interacts with a piece of software. Gone are the toolbars and menubars of yesterday, replaced with the 'ribbon', a single tabbed panel mixing buttons, menus and control applets. Microsoft has historically been in favor of using new (supposedly) more user friendly user-interface options -- for example, their task-based panel and customizable 'cool bars' -- but has the ribbon gone to far? Even if it has, are we stuck with it?
