MIME: is an acronym that stands for Multi-Part Internet Mail Extensions. It is a method of identifying what type of content is inside a mail message. MIME is most often used to identify attachments inside an email, but is also used to send multiple versions of the same message inside the same email. For instance, both an HTML and plain-text message could be sent so that recipients with modern email client can see the formatting you added, where those with older clients aren't left out.
