Facebook - Social Networking for the masses
The early adopters for most technology tend to be younger folks and social networking was no exception.
The popularity of MySpace with the younger set was so powerful that News Corp (parent of FOX television) purchased MySpace for $580 million in 2006 to gain access to all those teenagers.
As social networking grew up, so did some of its offerings. Facebook initially started out as a site designed for college students but evolved into a more mature offering to all adults.
Today, Facebook is ranked the #5 website on the Internet by Alexa.com (MySpace is ranked #7) and is fast becoming the best way to connect with people that you know from all walks of life.
Listen-in as the Data Doctors explain how a simple account on a powerful website can connect you with many people that you forgot you knew!
