It’s time for another Data Doctors Tech Tip

We all know that lots of online companies store data about us, but did you know that in many cases, you can opt-out of these databases?

Remember when we could tell the phone company to keep our number unlisted? You can do the same thing online if you know where to find the instructions.

A non-profit website called UnlistMy.info has compiled a directory of over 50 sites that includes the instruction for each site if you want to be removed from their database.

UnlistMy.info is the actual web address and each of the sites on the list comes with links to online request forms to be removed or in some cases, by mailing a removal request and where to send it.

Unfortunately, there is no simple way to opt-out of all of them at once because they are all different databases, so it will take a little effort to accomplish.

Pop on over to UnlistMY.Info to get started.
