Illness Forecasting App

As the weather becomes cooler, the increase in those infected with some variation of the flu goes along with the temperature change.

Our smartphones can actually help us know when an outbreak is happening near us through an app from a group that calls themselves ‘SickWeather’.

Just as Doppler radar scans the skies for indicators of bad weather, Sickweather’s algorithm scans social networks and 3rd party data sources for indicators of illness, allowing you to check for the chance of sickness as easily as you can check for the chance of rain.

Their sophisticated data gathering process can actually provide an early warning system for anyone using it so they can take extra precautions.

They claim that they can predict the rate of illnesses up to 15 weeks in advance with 91% accuracy using machine learning and archival data on sicknesses.
