Researchers realized that this activity could be helpful to track the activity in addition to all of the standard technology in use.
It turns out that the sophistication of a smartphone can be even more helpful in tracking earthquakes as they occurred.
The point of this approach was to create a more accurate and speedy warning system for those in the vicinity to help prevent surprises.
