Daylight Saving Changes
Two years ago, Congress passed a law that changed the start and end dates for Daylight Saving Time. What seemed like an innocent and well-meaning adjustment has turned into an IT nightmare. Some IT managers are comparing the problem with the Y2K flaw, although the effects are not quite as severe, preparation for the change has been significantly lower. Many software companies have released patches for their product, to bring them into compliance.

A Black-Hat: is someone who uses their skills for destructive or damaging purposes. Generally used in reference to hackers (which is a term without any leaning, good or bad) to differentiate from the good, or 'White-Hat' hackers that work at keeping the bad guys out. Outside of the original definition, Black-Hat is used to refer to anyone who has the skills, and decides to use them selfishly or in the attack of others. Virus and Spyware writers are definite Black-Hats.
